Karaage style chicken with fries
Zutaten
1. Meat
- 1000 g Chicken thigh without bone
2. Fries
- 1400 g Potato
3. Marinade
- 1 Clove Garlic
- 6 EL Teriyaki sauce
- 4 EL Soy sauce
- 1 EL Lime juice
- 1 EL Honey
- pinch of Pepper
4. Others
- 1000 ml Frying oil
- 100 g Potato starch
Anleitungen
1. Marinade
- Mix the soy sauce, teriyaki sauce, honey, lemon juice. Ad finely chopped garlic and a little bit of pepper. Slice the chicken into bite size pieces, cover them with the marinade and let it rest in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
2. Fries
- Wash your potatoes. If you like fries with skin, leave it on. Otherwise peel the potatoes. Now cut them lengthwise into 6 mm thick slices. If you want thicker fries, cut wider, if you want skinny fries, cut thinner. Now cut the slices to sticks. Put your fries in a bowl with cold water and let them sit for about 20 minutes.
3. Frying
- You can use a fryer or a deep pot for this part. Fill your vessel with your frying oil and bring it to heat. On a normal stove, you need to experiment a little bit with the heat and which level to use. But it is totally possible to achieve a very good result using a normal pot than an actual fryer.Now its easy. Put your fries in the hot oil and fry them, until they are golden brown. Take them out with a ladle and put them on kitchen paper so they can lose excess oil.Take your chicken and let the marinade drain a little bit. Cover the pieces in potato starch from both sides, than put them in the hot oil. They will take about 4 to 5 minutes, depending on your stove. Garnish with a Dip of your liking, perhaps a spicy chili mayo. Enjoy!
